Product Description
This is an upgrade option for all of our 3G Family Alternators (95/130/200) Select this to delete the Ford style circuit when ordering one of our units and we will install this regulator or you can add it to your cart and install it yourself. No outside connection is needed, this is the regulator only, the brush holder and screws are not included. The voltage set point is 14.6 vdc max. As with any self exciting regulator, you may need to rev or blip the throttle at start up to excite the unit and then normal operations will take over. Note – this part, as with all electrical component parts, is not covered under our lifetime warranty. Once installed it is not returnable.

3G alternator, connector and the help I received from PA Performance
I am very pleased that I decided to make my purchase from PA Performance! I have been diligently researching one wire options for my 70 Torino as I wanted to really clean up the engine department and keep the stock brackets and spacers for the time being… From tech-support to Sales PA Performance answer all my questions gave me input and understanding on how their product worked so I can make the best decision for my application. 3G Self Exciting Regulator
Beyond easy to install, I was plagued with odd charging problems even with a new Replacement 3G Regulator. Using the Self exciting Regulator got rid of the sparatic drop and rise of voltage at lower RPM's, my car now charges at 13.7v at 550 rpm, this is a 68 mustang with a Foxbody Supercharged EFI Set-up with upgraded 3G alternator. Wish I knew of this product YEARS AGO!
