This is a very popular replacement where significantly increased capacity is needed. This kit is more popular for highly (electrically) modified cars. Being slightly larger diameter than early (1965-1985) Ford alternators some minor bracket clearance / modification may be needed. You can see this in the “tech info” page.
80 amps at idle (2000 alternator shaft rpm) 160 amps maximum (6000 alternator shaft rpm) the stock belt can be used on original equipment vehicles. All units are 100% NEW and come complete with internal voltage regulator and pulley, each is tested at time of assembly. This alternator includes the upgrade kit for “Upgrade Applications”, for “Direct Replacement” applications this kit is included but not used. Our standard pulley is a 57mm (2-1/4”) 6-groove serpentine.
On vehicles where this is an upgrade we require that you upgrade the main power wire due to higher output than stock

The alternator is a nice piece, I opted for the candy blue. Works as it should and looks good doing it.
Quality alternator that PA provides and it comes with some hardware and the exciter jumper wire if you are converting from 2G to 3G

Very good part, everything is 100% new and the matte black finish is very nice. Plenty of power, able to hold 13.9-14v with the heater and headlights on at an 800rpm idle.
I bought black powder coating. Performance and function is perfect. Just a slight blemish on the powder coating so that's why I give 4 instead of 5.
