This is a very popular replacement where increased capacity is needed. This kit is more popular for (electrically) modified cars.
60 amps at idle (2000 alternator shaft rpm) 120 amps maximum (6000 alternator shaft rpm) the stock belt can be used on original equipment vehicles. All units are 100% NEW and come complete with internal voltage regulator and 1V single-groove pulley, each is tested at time of assembly. On vehicles where this is an upgrade we require that you upgrade the main power wire due to higher output than stock
Applications: 1965-1978 Mustang V-8.

I bought this to fit my 1969 Mercury Cougar as a replacement for my original (1G) 60 Amp unit. The difference between a 1G and a 3G required modifications to both the engine and the Alternator. One of the 3 bolts that holds the Alternator together interferes with the bolt head of the upper alternator mounting bracket. Had to grind down one of the wings on the bracket and the head of the bolt. Also had to grind off a bit of one of the bolts on the alternator. Once installed the wiring in the instructions tells you to leave one of the original wire harness wires disconnected as it is unused and has some signal on it. I determined that it was indeed the original grounding wire for the regulator so I connected it to ground as it was originally. Unit runs fine. I do get a little belt squeal on first start up that lasts for a few seconds, but then stops. I hope this goes away after my new belt settles in and I can readjust the tension. One last issue, the new threaded hole is different then the stock alternator and requires a metric bolt on you classic American car which of course is all English.
Bought this item to boost my charging system on an early mustang I converted to aftermarket efi. The part arrived in perfect shape, and the install went smoothly. I did have to do a bit of searching for other installs since my harness is a bit different than what was described in the instructions. After the install, my car makes 14.2v at any rpm. The old 65A 1g would only develop low 13’s at speed and low 12’s at idle.
Works great. From12v at idle before the upgrade to over 14v with all accessories running after the upgrade.
Called up & received excellent customer service. Ended up with what I needed & it’s working great. Thanks
Works great, Tech support Great. Power coating is thin. Be careful because it will chip very easy.
Added amp and subwoofer to 1970 mustang Mach 1, which started causing electrical issues. Battery would not charge and motor started to stumble. Voltage at battery showed12.4 volts. Changed to pa performance alternator and now no stumbling and voltage at battery is 14.1. Good product with good results.
