Need a 1-Wire Alternator for your 1989-2002 Dodge Ram pickup with the 5.9 Diesel Cummins? This unit has a maximum output of 160+Amps and will produce between 80A to 90A at idle depending on whether the engine is gas or diesel and shaft speeds. This unit will increase the charging capacity at all RPM Ranges with NO modifications. If you are putting the 5.9 Diesel powerplant into a vehicle not wired or equipped for it, this is your answer - no external regulator, no wiring. Just the main power feed wire. We offer an optional W-Terminal or TACH pickup wire to this alternator. This option is only available on these “SE” Denso / dodge alternators that eliminate the PCM. When you select this option, we will provide a tach lead for connection to a diesel specific aftermarket tach. This is only available at the time of assembly and older units are not physically eligible for retrofit. The connection is simple, the wire is provided by us but does not need to be used if no tach is intended. This will not work with factory equipped tachometers or ignition-based tachometers, only a stator signal tachometer. The rotor has 12 poles, some calibration instructions ask this (tach shown is not included)

Worth it
Ordered for my 91 dodge diesel that has always had charging problems, eating thru voltage regulators, pulsating headlights, overcharging everything. Denso single wire alternator 91 dodge
I have 91 dodge with Cummins I put about 14 external regulators on it in last 5 years every time had some where to be in a hurry it would go out. Found this from Pa performance put it on battery gage works correctly was very easy to install. And my head lights don't flicker the way they did with factory setup I'm very happy with it so far I'll leave follow up again after a few months in service

Works well. It's worth the money rather than going through dodge and for external regulators and relays. Just 3 bolts , 1 wire and 1 belt and you're done.

Great product
I have a 89 dodge w350 4x4 single rear wheel as we all know dodge is know for electrical problems I kept having to replace voltage regulators alternators and batteries but I bought this alternator super easy to install just tape up the field wires put the one hot wire from battery one and let your charging problems disappear I am super impressed with this alternator it is definitely worth every penny only thing I wish I would have done different is buy the alternator with the tac wire but other than that this alternator is worth every dollar

135A, 1 wire alternator
I spent the last 3 days installing it and just completed today. This went on an early 1989 Dodge D350, 1 ton pickup with a 5.9 Cummis. Was quite difficult to change because of the design of the engine and accessories. But finally got the job done and it put out 14.0V at startup. I have not driven it of the road yet, but revving up the engine had very little affect on the voltage. So far I am pleased and time will tell about the quality and longevity.
