If you are putting the 5.9 / 6.7 Diesel powerplant into a vehicle not wired or equipped for it, this is your answer - no external regulator, no PCM, just the main power feed wire AND a key-on / key-off signal wire.
If you are replacing the stock alternator on your 2003-2010 Dodge Ram pickup or 5.9 or 6.7 Diesel Cummins conversion; this unit will eliminate the external regulator (or PCM) Note: when replacing the stock alternator on a factory equipped truck the check charging system/check engine light may illuminate as the PCM will be looking for a signal that no longer exists but does not affect charge voltage. This unit requires you to provide a key on (and key off) accessory / excite wire to the alternator.
This unit and has a maximum output of 160+Amps, will produce between 80A to 90A at idle depending on whether the engine is gas or diesel and shaft speeds. This unit has our lifetime warranty.
